Veljko Birač is a lecturer in Biblical Studies with History of Religion. He graduated from St. Arsenie of Srem Orthodox Seminary in Sremski Karlovci, Serbia. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in theology, with a focus on Biblical Studies, from the Faculty of Theology at the University of Belgrade, Serbia. His master’s research topic was “Royal Messianism of Ancient Judaism in the Reception of the Gospel of Mark.”
Veljko’s area of research and interest is the world of the Bible during the Second Temple era, Ancient Jewish literature (with a particular emphasis on Messianism within that corpus), and Judeo-Christian relations in Antiquity.
He is also a member of The Lausanne-Orthodox Initiative (LOI) young leaders program.
