With heavy hearts and deepest reverence, Sankt Ignatios mourns the passing of His Holiness Pope Francis.
We remember with profound gratitude his exemplary witness to the true meaning of humanity—that mercy and peace are not individual virtues, but sacred gifts that animate in us when shared with others. His life embodied authentic Christianity in both word and deed, and his warm embrace of the Orthodox Church reflected his genuine commitment to Christian unity.
May his memory be eternal, and may his legacy of compassion continue to inspire us all.
”May Christ our true God, who as immortal King has power over the living and the dead, and who rose from the dead: through the intercessions of his all-pure holy Mother; of the holy, glorious and praiseworthy Apostles; of our holy and God-bearing Fathers and Mothers; of the holy and glorious Forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob; of his holy and righteous friend Lazaros, who was four days in the tomb; and of all the Saints, place the soul of his servant and friend to the Orthodox Church His Holiness Pope Francis who has departed from us, in the tents of the righteous, grant him rest in the bosom of Abraham, and number him among the righteous, and have mercy on us, as a good and loving God. Eternal be your memory, our brother, worthy of blessedness and everlasting memory.”
