Before the Covid-19 pandemic, Sankt Ignatios initiated discussions with the Greek Orthodox Partriarchate of Alexandria with a view to establish a collaborative project to promote the further development of theological education on the African continent. On Monday, May 23, 2022 a delegation from Sankt Ignatios travelled to Alexandria for a follow up meeting with his Beatitude Patriarch Theodore II, Pope and Patriarch of All Africa. The delegation reaffirmed its commitment to establish post-graduate and doctoral education tailored to the needs of students and religious educators on the African continent. Sankt Ignatios intends to work together with the Alexandrian Patriarchate to further educate and empower leaders and teachers involved in theological education within the Alexandrian Patriarchate.
