University policies and regulations

Campus students are expected to attend all scheduled teaching during the academic year, unless prevented by illness or the care of a sick child. Absence must be reported to both the teaching instructor and the course coordinator.

Distance students are expected to participate in the scheduled online teaching as well as submit all compulsory assignments on time.

To pass a course, campus students must attend at least 80% of lectures. Absences in excess of this may, in certain cases, be compensated for by supplementary assignments, if the course coordinator deems this possible. If a student has 50% or more absences, the course is deemed to have been discontinued, even if examination tasks have been completed.

For both on-campus and distance-learning students, attendance at compulsory seminars totalling 100% is required, and all compulsory assessment tasks must be submitted and approved in order to complete the course.

If the attendance requirements are not met, the course cannot be passed and no grade or course certificate will be issued.

If you choose to discontinue your studies, you must notify the Dean of Students in writing by email. State your first name, surname, personal identity number (if applicable), and the name of the course or program that you wish to discontinue. It is not sufficient to notify the course teacher only.

If you have specific needs that may affect your studies, please email deanofstudents@sanktignatios.org, preferably before the course begins. If we are informed of your needs in good time, there may be an opportunity for extra support or aids. There may also be an opportunity for study support via NAIS.

Saint Ignatios College has a student council. The student council consists of students from various courses and programs.

All students have the opportunity to make their voices heard through class councils and unit meetings. The student council is also represented on the college board by a student representative.

Selection of the student council representatives takes place during the month of September.

Communication with students takes place primarily via email. It is therefore important that you keep your contact details up to date.

If your email address, phone number, or postal address has changed since you submitted your application, please notify deanofstudents@sanktignatios.org as soon as possible.

Written assignments must be submitted on time. Information regarding submission dates can be found in Canvas or will be communicated by the teacher. If you know that you will not be able to submit an assignment on time, you must contact the teacher in advance.

All submitted work must be the student's own independent work. Plagiarism or any other form of deception during examination is not permitted and may lead to disciplinary action or suspension from the course.

Recording of lectures is generally permitted by agreement with the lecturer and solely for the student's own use. Due to copyright rules, recordings may not be shared or published, for example on YouTube or similar platforms. In certain cases, the lecturer may decide that recording is not permitted.
