CSN and student finance

Folkhögskola

Participants at Sankt Ignatios Folkhögskola can apply for study funds from CSN for programs that qualify for student finance.

You apply for student finance yourself via the CSN website. When you apply, you will need to provide information about your previous studies, as this can affect your eligibility for student finance and how much support you can receive.

If you are not a Swedish citizen but have a residence permit in Sweden, you may also be entitled to student grants and loans in certain cases. If you are unsure whether you are eligible, we recommend that you contact CSN to get information on what applies in your case.

Students who are not eligible for study grants from CSN should investigate the possibility of seeking financial support or study financing from their home country. It is also possible to study at Sankt Ignatios Folkhögskola without study grants.

University College

Students at the Stockholm School of Eastern Christian Studies can apply for student finance from CSN for programs that qualify for student finance.

Please apply for student finance in good time before the start of term. If you are studying a program, we recommend that you apply for a whole academic year at a time.

To be eligible for student grants, you must be registered on the courses you are studying. Registration is reported to CSN by the university. You can submit your application before registration has been completed, but CSN will only make its decision once the registration has been reported.

If you are not a Swedish citizen or do not have a residence permit in Sweden, your entitlement to study grants and loans may vary depending on your situation. Contact CSN if you want to know if you meet the conditions for study grants and loans.

If you pause your studies

If you pause your studies or take a leave of absence, it is important that you promptly inform both Sankt Ignatios College and CSN. If CSN continues to pay out student grants and loans after you have completed your studies, you may be required to repay them.

If you get sick

If you become ill during a period when you are receiving student aid, you should report the illness to Försäkringskassan as soon as possible, preferably on the first day of illness. Reporting sickness may affect your right to retain student aid during illness and how CSN assesses your study results.

If you are absent from teaching, you must also inform your teacher according to the university's or folkhögskola's procedures.
